Rep. Jay Obernolte, representing California’s 23rd District since 2021, has made recent announcements reflecting his engagement in various institutions and legislative measures. Serving in the U.S. Congress, Obernolte has participated in multiple activities highlighting his commitment to both community and policy matters.

On April 14, 2025, Obernolte shared his experience attending the White House ceremony honoring the Los Angeles Dodgers for their 2024 World Series championship. Describing the event held in the nation's capital, he stated "This week I had the honor of attending the White House’s celebration of the 2024 World Series Champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers. As a representative of Southern California, it was a pleasure to be a part of this momentous ceremony in our nation’s capital.".

In another announcement on the same day, Obernolte emphasized his role as a pilot and advocate for aviation innovation. He expressed his commitment to collaborating with Rep. Robert Garcia on the CLEAR Skies Act. The legislation is aimed at removing lead from aviation fuel and reducing emissions. Obernolte remarked, "As a pilot and a leader in aviation innovation, I’m proud to partner with @RepRobertGarcia in championing the CLEAR Skies Act. This bill pushes for a solution to removing the lead from aviation fuel, cutting harmful emissions while driving American innovation."

The following day, April 15, 2025, Obernolte announced the approval for continued operations at the Colosseum Mine in San Bernardino County. He indicated the significance of this decision for the production of critical rare earth minerals and its implications for the domestic supply chain. He stated, "The Colosseum Mine in San Bernardino County has received approval to continue its operations. This is a major step forward in improving critical rare earth mineral production in the United States and supporting our domestic supply chain—right here in our district.".

Jay Obernolte, aged 52, was born in Chicago, Illinois and resides in Big Bear Lake. He graduated from California Institute of Technology in 1992 with a BS.
