Rep. Jay Obernolte, representing California’s 23rd District in the U.S. Congress, has been active in voicing his stance on several issues through social media. His recent tweets touch upon consumer rights, public safety, and electoral integrity.

On April 7, 2025, Obernolte expressed his firm opposition to what he described as an overreach by the State of California regarding automotive purchases. He stated, "The State of California shouldn’t get to dictate what cars Californians can buy. That’s why I've joined @RepGuthrie, @RepJohnJoyce, and @RepJames to introduce legislation preventing the state from enforcing this unreasonable mandate." He emphasized the significance of protecting consumer choice and American jobs.

Two days later, on April 9, 2025, Obernolte highlighted his engagement with local fire leadership to discuss critical safety concerns. He stated, "I enjoyed meeting with San Bernardino County Fire Chief Dan Munsey and the Western Fire Chiefs Association to discuss issues impacting our publics lands and urban interfaces. Our first responders put their lives at risk for our community, and it is important that we provide them". The tweet reflects his commitment to the safety and support of first responders.

Later on April 9, Obernolte addressed his efforts to enhance the integrity of election processes, stating, "Americans deserve timely, transparent election results they can trust. That’s why I've introduced the Election Results Accountability Act to ensure that 90% of ballots are counted within 72 hours and that final results are certified within two weeks. Restoring confidence in our".

Jay Obernolte, born in Chicago in 1970, holds a Bachelor of Science from the California Institute of Technology. He has served in Congress since 2021, following his tenure in the California State Assembly, where he served from 2014-2020. He replaced Paul Cook in Congress and resides in Big Bear Lake.
