Town of Apple Valley issued the following announcement on Nov. 24.
Apple Valley Town Hall and Apple Valley Animal Services will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Animal Services will also be closed Saturday, Nov. 28.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be open Saturday.
Police Department administrative offices will be closed. Law enforcement will operate as usual and essential services will still be performed. Non-emergency dispatch can be reached at (760) 956-5001.
In case of emergency: For life-threatening emergencies please call 9-1-1. For emergencies concerning sewer, water, flooding, traffic signs or signals, vicious dogs, dogs with life-threatening injuries, or emergencies regarding a town facility, please call the Town after-hours dispatch number at (760) 961-6001.
For animal emergencies during the holiday closure, call the Town dispatch number at (760) 961-6001. Calls for service will be screened to determine urgency. If your pet gets loose, contact the shelter immediately at (760) 240-7555; leave a message with a complete description and contact information. If your pet has been turned in to the shelter and the shelter is contacted, but the pet cannot be returned immediately you will not be charged for boarding that day. This does not include the holidays or weekends.
