Town of Apple Valley issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
A symbolic ground-breaking ceremony marked the official start of the intersection reconstruction of Apple Valley Road and Highway 18.
The multi-agency, $9.6 million dollar project will improve traffic movement and safety in all directions of the intersection that sees approximately 46,000 vehicles daily.
Motorists should avoid the intersection or proceed with patience and caution as traffic patterns will vary during the construction process, estimated to conclude in late 2021.
Temporary signage and striping have been installed along the construction corridor.
