Lucerne Valley USD issued the following announcement on Dec. 22.
As Winter Break begins we recognize that people may gather with individuals outside of their immediate household which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health (SBDPH) have determined may put individuals at a higher risk of contracting COVID 19. In an effort to help maintain student and family health and safety and in order to provide the current recommended 10-day quarantine, we will be extending our Winter Break and will resume with students on January 11th. All current methods of instruction will continue under the guidelines by the CDPH and SBDPH. Our elementary will remain on the hybrid model with virtual learning options and our Middle/High School will remain on their models of instruction.
The change in dates allows everyone to have a little more time after Christmas and New Year’s to “quarantine” for 10 days before returning. It will also allow for more in person days at the end of the year if we are permitted by the Governor to reopen our Middle/High School. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and are looking forward to 2021. Be safe and take care.
