Senator Scott Wilk has recognized Susan Padilla-Conway, the founder of God’s Hand Extended, for her commitment to aiding vulnerable groups in the High Desert. Her organization has been praised for its innovative programs and dedication.
“Susan Padilla-Conway is a shining example of resilience and service,” stated Senator Wilk. “Her organization has touched thousands of lives, offering essential resources and hope to those who need it most. She and the team at God’s Hand Extended are very well deserving of this award.”
Padilla-Conway expressed her gratitude by saying, “Being recognized for this work was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. It is an honor, and it feels amazing to know that the community believes in what we’re doing." She emphasized her faith-driven mission: "From the beginning, people suggested we remove God from our nonprofit’s name, but I knew this was His plan—GOD'S GOT THIS."
In 2023 alone, God’s Hand Extended made significant contributions including providing clothing to 1,483 individuals and distributing 1,381 food boxes to seniors, veterans, and disabled individuals. They also gave comfort bags to 1,000 children through a partnership with My Stuff Bags and distributed 28,000 boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts.
This year saw further expansion with distributions such as 11,150 diapers as part of their role with Community Action Partnership and continuing their Donut Ministry by delivering 22,000 boxes of donuts. Despite logistical challenges like relocating their Clothing Closet, they managed to provide clothing to nearly 2,000 individuals.
The organization's various programs ensure access to essentials like beds and hygiene items for children and families in need. By training volunteers and collaborating with other nonprofits, God’s Hand Extended continues its impactful work.
