Senator Scott Wilk (R-Santa Clarita) has announced the approval of $1.8 million by the State Allocation Board for the construction of new classrooms in the Hesperia Unified School District.

“Success in life starts in the classroom. Investing in our students, making sure they get the education they deserve in new, well-equipped classrooms, is vital to ensuring that early success,” said Senator Wilk. “Quality education is something I care deeply about, and I am so grateful to see these funds invested in the High Desert community. Congratulations!”

The funds, amounting to $1,804,614, were given the green light during the State Allocation Board’s April 3 meeting. Specifically, $894,792 will be allocated for the construction of new classrooms at Joshua Circle Elementary, while $909,822 will be directed to Krystal School of Science, Math & Technology for new classroom construction. Both schools are situated within the Hesperia Unified School District.

The State Allocation Board, consisting of key officials such as the Director of Finance, the Director of the Department of General Service, the Superintendent of Public Instruction, members of the Senate and Assembly, and an appointee by the Governor, convenes monthly to distribute funds to school districts, address appeals, and establish policies and regulations.
