Senator Scott Wilk of Santa Clarita has announced that El Montecito Mexican and American Restaurant in Adelanto has been chosen as Senate District 21’s Small Business of the Month. The recognition comes as a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the restaurant owners, Moises and Rosario Montes.

“Starting from humble beginnings, husband and wife team Moises and Rosario Montes are the prime example of what it means to achieve the American Dream,” Senator Wilk praised. “Their passion for great food, coupled with their commitment to community service, has made El Montecito one of the most loved restaurants in the High Desert, and it’s my pleasure to highlight their accomplishments. Congratulations!”

The Montes’ journey began in 2018 when they opened the first El Montecito location in Adelanto. With Moises’ culinary expertise from Mexico and Rosario’s business management skills, the couple formed a successful partnership. Their dedication and hard work led to the restaurant’s expansion to Apple Valley in 2024, now employing 30 individuals.

Apart from serving delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine, the Montes are actively involved in giving back to the community. They support local sports teams, collaborate with other small businesses, and donate food daily to local nonprofits. Their generosity and community spirit have earned them a reputation for always being ready to lend a helping hand.

El Montecito’s commitment to community service was evident at a recent city event in Adelanto when the scheduled caterer failed to show up. Without hesitation, Moises and Rosario stepped in and saved the day by catering the event at the last minute.

The success story of El Montecito Mexican and American Restaurant serves as an inspiration for small businesses, showcasing the power of hard work, dedication, and community involvement in achieving the American Dream.
