Senator Scott Wilk, representing California’s 21st Senate District, has recognized Andrade Mejia Agency as his Small Business of the Month for October. The award presentation saw business owner Frida Evelinne Andrade Mejia accompanied by community members, staff, family, and friends.

Wilk praised Andrade Mejia for her achievements: “Frida’s story is the epitome of living the American Dream. Her parents brought her to this country from Mexico with the hopes of a better life,” he said. “She has not only capitalized on this opportunity, but she has also used her success to uplift others. She truly is a tireless public servant and her passion for supporting her community is an inspiration for all who know Frida.”

Andrade Mejia’s journey began after serving in the U.S. Army Reserves and becoming a citizen. She utilized skills gained as a Farmers Insurance Business Consultant to establish her own insurance agency in 2022. Her leadership at Andrade Mejia Agency extends beyond business operations and into community involvement.

Beyond managing her agency, Andrade Mejia serves as Director of the Antelope Valley Chambers of Commerce and Director of Community Affairs for JCI Antelope Valley chapter. She actively organizes contributions and fundraising events for numerous non-profits.

“It’s an honor to receive this recognition specifically on Hispanic Heritage month because of where I came from, a little girl from Acapulco, MX., whose parents believed in a bigger dream, the American Dream,” said Frida Evelinne Andrade Mejia during the ceremony. “Our circumstances don’t limit us; only we limit ourselves,” she added. She dedicated the award to her family members who have been significant influences in her life.

Small businesses play a crucial role in California’s economy with 4.1 million small businesses making up 99.8% of all enterprises in the state.
