Rep. Jay Obernolte, who represents California’s 23rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to mark significant national events and inform constituents about upcoming opportunities.
On September 17, 2025, Obernolte posted about Constitution Day, stating, “On this day in 1787 our Founding Fathers signed the United States Constitution, establishing the framework of liberty and self-government that has endured for more than two centuries. Constitution Day reminds us of the principles that make our nation strong and our duty to uphold” (September 17, 2025).
Later that same day, he announced information sessions for students interested in military service academies: “My office is hosting two Military Service Academy Information Meetings next week for students in grades 8–12, parents, and educators. These sessions will explain the admissions process, academy requirements, and the Congressional nomination, which is a key step toward an” (September 17, 2025).
On September 18, Obernolte recognized the anniversary of a major branch of the armed forces: “Today we celebrate the 78th birthday of the United States Air Force. Since 1947 the Air Force has protected our skies, advanced American innovation, and defended freedom around the world. I am grateful to the men and women of the Air Force for their service and dedication.” (September 18, 2025).
Jay Obernolte has served as a member of Congress since replacing Paul Cook in 2021. He previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2020. Born in Chicago in 1970 and currently residing in Big Bear Lake at age 52, Obernolte holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California Institute of Technology.
