Rep. Jay Obernolte, who represents California’s 23rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted his legislative efforts and engagement with public safety issues through a series of posts on social media.
On August 26, 2025, Obernolte announced his support for new healthcare legislation, stating: “I am proud to cosponsor the ABC-ED Act to help hospitals track bed capacity and reduce emergency room overcrowding. Jay Obernolte has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after succeeding Paul Cook. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2020. Born in Chicago in 1970 and currently residing in Big Bear Lake, Obernolte graduated from the California Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
