Rep. Jay Obernolte, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 23rd district, announced on July 21 and July 22, 2025, the passage of two legislative initiatives via his official Twitter account.
The following day, he shared another update regarding government efficiency and health care spending. On July 22, Obernolte wrote: “Our budgeting process should reflect a long-term plan to make our government more efficient and effective. I’ve introduced the Preventive Health Savings Act, which allows the Congressional Budget Office to account for long-term savings from preventive health care. This”. He also posted a link without additional commentary at this address on the same date.
Jay Obernolte has served in Congress since replacing Paul Cook in 2021. Before his current role representing California’s 23rd district, he was a member of the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2020. Born in Chicago in 1970 and currently residing in Big Bear Lake, Obernolte graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from California Institute of Technology in 1992.
