Rep. Jay Obernolte, who represents California’s 23rd district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of issues in recent posts on his official Twitter account. The congressman shared condolences for a fallen law enforcement officer, criticized Senate Democrats over a failed bill impacting federal workers, and reflected on the significance of artificial intelligence at a local summit.

On November 7, 2025, Obernolte wrote about the death of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Nunez: “Heather and I continue to mourn the tragic loss of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Nunez, who gave his life in the line of duty. Deputy Nunez served our community with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to protecting others. We honor his service,”.

A day later, on November 8, 2025, Obernolte commented on recent legislative developments affecting federal employees: “Today Senate Democrats voted down a bill to pay our essential federal workers, including air traffic controllers and TSA agents. As a result, travelers are now facing widespread flight delays and cancellations across the country. It’s time to put partisan politics aside and”.

On November 9, 2025, he discussed participation in an event focused on artificial intelligence: “I was honored to join local leaders at the Loma Linda Leadership Summit on AI 2025 to discuss how this technology can boost jobs, education, and innovation right here in our community. Jay Obernolte has represented California’s 23rd District since replacing Paul Cook in Congress in 2021. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2020. Born in Chicago in 1970 and currently residing in Big Bear Lake with his family, Obernolte graduated from the California Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
