Jay Obernolte updates constituents on Medicare event and broadband bill progress

Rep. Jay Obernolte, who represents California’s 23rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently updated constituents through a series of posts on social media regarding legislative progress and community engagement events.

On November 18, Obernolte thanked participants for joining his recent Medicare Open Enrollment virtual event. He wrote, “Thank you to the over 5,000 constituents who joined my Medicare Open Enrollment virtual event yesterday! We covered the basics of enrollment, answered questions, and shared resources to help you choose the coverage that best fits your needs for the coming year. Open enrollment is https://t.co/yx24e7K9Iy”.

The following day, November 19, Obernolte announced progress on his legislative efforts in broadband deployment. He stated, “I was excited to have my legislation, the GRANTED Act, passed out of the House Communications and Technology Subcommittee yesterday as part of H.R. 2289, the Proportional Reviews for Broadband Deployment Act. This is an important step toward cutting red tape, streamlining https://t.co/MJ7wFyFw57”.

On November 20, Obernolte invited constituents to participate in a live Virtual Town Hall. In his post he said: “Join me this afternoon at 5pm Pacific for a live Virtual Town Hall! I’ll be answering your questions and providing updates on the work I’m doing in Congress on behalf of California’s 23rd District. Jay Obernolte has served as U.S. Representative since replacing Paul Cook in 2021 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2020. Born in Chicago in 1970 and currently residing in Big Bear Lake, Obernolte holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California Institute of Technology.
