In a separate post dated December 4, 2025, Obernolte wrote: “I am proud to co-lead the Chip EQUIP Act with Rep. Zoe Lofgren. Obernolte has served in Congress since replacing Paul Cook in 2021 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2020. Born in Chicago in 1970 and currently residing in Big Bear Lake, Obernolte holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the California Institute of Technology.
