Rep. Jay Obernolte, who represents California’s 23rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted local achievements and legislative efforts through a series of posts on social media.
On May 13, Obernolte marked a milestone for emergency services in his district by stating, “I was honored to join Fire Chief Peratt and the Apple Valley Fire Protection District in celebrating 75 years of service to our community! The following day, May 14, he addressed healthcare issues affecting families nationwide: “Metastatic breast cancer impacts thousands of families across our country, and patients deserve access to the care and treatment they need. I am proud to cosponsor the Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act and grateful to stand along survivors like Lori who inspire so many https://t.co/Buhglb3sXP”.
On May 15, Obernolte focused on technological innovation within his district: “General Atomics is driving innovation that strengthens our military and creates high quality jobs right here in the High Desert. It was inspiring to visit their Adelanto facility and see firsthand how advanced technology and manufacturing are both supporting our national security https://t.co/4rX12xIoLn”.
Obernolte has represented California’s 23rd District since 2021 after succeeding Paul Cook. He previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2020. Born in Chicago in 1970, Obernolte resides in Big Bear Lake. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the California Institute of Technology, awarded in 1992.
