Rep. Jay Obernolte, who represents California’s 23rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted a series of meetings and initiatives aimed at supporting local communities and veterans in Southern California through posts on his official social media account.

On August 6, 2025, Obernolte posted about a recent event with law enforcement officials: “I recently hosted a roundtable discussion with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to discuss the various ways in which H.R. 1 benefits the first responders who protect our community. Two days later, on August 8, Obernolte shared details of a meeting with Barstow Mayor Tim Silva: “I enjoyed meeting with Barstow Mayor Tim Silva. Obernolte has represented California’s 23rd District since replacing Paul Cook in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2020. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1970 and currently resides in Big Bear Lake. Obernolte holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), which he earned in 1992.
