Representative Jay Obernolte, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 23rd District since 2021, recently shared updates on his activities and reflections through a series of posts on social media. Obernolte, who previously served in the California State Assembly and holds a degree from the California Institute of Technology, addressed topics ranging from immigration facility oversight to commemorating tragic events and supporting local healthcare.
On July 12, 2025, Obernolte reported on his visit to an immigration detention center: “I just completed a tour of the Adelanto ICE processing center. It’s clear to me that this facility is doing its job: ensuring that detainees are treated humanely – with access to medical care, legal representation, and timely hearings – while helping ICE carry out its mission to”.
Reflecting on an anniversary of political violence, Obernolte posted on July 13, 2025: “One year ago today, a senseless act of political violence occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania—an attack that tragically claimed the life of an innocent bystander and could have taken the life of the future president. We’re grateful the worst was narrowly avoided, but this”.
On July 14, 2025, Obernolte discussed his engagement with regional healthcare leadership: “This week I enjoyed meeting with Andrew Goldfrach, CEO of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center—one of the Inland Empire’s premier medical facilities. We discussed innovative ways to improve local healthcare access and quality. I’m committed to supporting ARMC’s mission of delivering”.
Jay Obernolte was born in Chicago in 1970 and currently resides in Big Bear Lake. He succeeded Paul Cook as representative for California’s 23rd district in Congress.
