Rep. Jay Obernolte, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 23rd district, recently shared updates on his legislative activities and community engagements through a series of tweets.

On March 14, 2025, Rep. Obernolte announced that his bill, H.R. 1766, the NTIA Policy and Cybersecurity Coordination Act, had successfully passed the Energy and Commerce Committee. He stated that this legislation aims to enhance the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) role in cybersecurity policy to protect U.S. communications networks from emerging threats. “I’m proud to announce that my bill, H.R. 1766, the NTIA Policy and Cybersecurity Coordination Act, has passed the Energy and Commerce Committee! This legislation strengthens NTIA’s role in cybersecurity policy and protects U.S. communications networks from emerging threats.”

In another tweet dated March 16, 2025, Rep. Obernolte emphasized the importance of providing clear and unbiased summaries of tax and bond measures for California voters. He reflected on his previous legislative success in passing reforms aimed at making these summaries more factual during his tenure in the state legislature. “California voters deserve clear, unbiased summaries of tax and bond measures.”

On March 17, 2025, Rep. Obernolte expressed his satisfaction after meeting with San Bernardino County Supervisor Jesse Armendarez to discuss local issues affecting their community. The discussion focused on supporting local businesses, strengthening infrastructure, enhancing public safety, and ensuring access to essential services for residents.“I enjoyed meeting with San Bernardino County Supervisor Jesse Armendarez to discuss the issues impacting our community.”
