Rep. Jay Obernolte, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 23rd district since 2021, has recently highlighted key issues related to space policy and local community concerns in a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On April 29, 2026, Obernolte wrote about his engagement with NASA leadership during a recent SST Committee hearing: “I asked NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman at a recent SST Committee hearing whether NASA has the resources it needs to complete its mission. From the success of the Artemis Program to decades of innovation, NASA continues to lead the world in space exploration. That includes https://t.co/oydjkGRPgl”.
The following day, on April 30, Obernolte addressed a local issue impacting his constituents: “Several residents in our community recently contacted my office for assistance with a disruption to their daily mail delivery. Due to a security issue with their community mailboxes, residents were left without access to critical mail, including time-sensitive documents and https://t.co/k9jsGQtfDT”.
On May 1, Obernolte turned his attention back to federal policy, specifically satellite regulation: “As part of a recent Communications and Technology Subcommittee hearing, I questioned leaders on modernizing satellite licensing to keep pace with rapid innovation in the space economy. We need to cut unnecessary delays while ensuring spectrum access keeps up with growing demand https://t.co/RY9DQX5akt”.
