Jay Obernolte has represented California’s 23rd district since 2021 after succeeding Paul Cook. Before joining Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2020. Born in Chicago in 1970 and currently residing in Big Bear Lake at age 52, Obernolte holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), which he earned in 1992.
